Mode

Description

Edit mode

Layer is visible in the Working Window, its properties are included in the Properties Sheet and it can be edited. All layer manipulations performed affect all layers that are in Edit mode at the time.

View mode

Layer is visible in the Working Window but its properties are not included in the Properties Sheet and cannot be edited. All layer manipulations that are performed do not affect layers that are in View mode unless they are in Edit mode as well.

Reference mode

Layer is visible in the Reference Window, where it is used as reference material.
